Privacy policy
NDIS Insurance Cover is a trading name of GeePeeVee Pty Ltd, a Corporate Authorised Representative (CAR 1008568) of Community Broker Network Pty Ltd (AFSL 233750). Our licensee's Privacy Policy covers how we handle your personal information, and it is set out below.
Community Broker Network Pty Ltd respects the privacy of your personal information. This policy sets out how we collect, store, use and disclose your personal information, including sensitive information, under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What personal information we collect
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified person, or a person who can reasonably be identified. We generally collect your name and contact details, information about your business and the work you do, and details of the people you do business with.
When we arrange insurance for you, we may also collect details of your previous insurance and, in some cases, sensitive information such as bank account details or a criminal record. We only collect sensitive information with your consent or where the law allows it.
How we collect it
We collect personal information from you directly, for example when you use this website, call us, or write or email to us. We may also collect it from other people, such as your employer, other brokers, underwriting agencies, referees, insurers, premium funders and service providers.
Why we collect, hold and use it
We use your personal information to provide our services to you, to work out which products and services may suit you, for market and customer research, to meet our legal and regulatory reporting obligations, for internal and external audits, and for any other purpose we tell you about when we collect it.
Who we share it with
We may share your personal information with related companies and broker members, with service providers who work for us, and with insurers, reinsurers, intermediaries, reference bureaus and industry bodies when we arrange and manage your cover.
We may also share it where the law requires or allows us to, including with courts, law enforcement, regulators and government agencies. Otherwise, we only share your personal information with your consent.
Information sent overseas
Some of the people we share your information with may be outside Australia. When that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure they handle it in line with Australian privacy law.
Giving us someone else's information
If you give us another person's personal information, such as an employee's, you need their consent first. Let them know you are passing it to us and that we handle it under this policy.
Accuracy, access and correction
We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information accurate, complete and up to date, and we rely on you to tell us when it changes.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, by contacting the Privacy Officer below. We will give you access unless the law allows or requires us not to, and if we refuse we will tell you why.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, change and disclosure. These include physical security and computer and network security.
Cookies and direct marketing
This website may use cookies, small files your browser stores, to add features or to measure how the site is used. You can turn cookies off in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then not work as well.
We may send you marketing about insurance and related services. You can opt out at any time by using the opt-out link in an email or by contacting us.
